Jang Myoungsic is the owner chef of classic French cuisine L’amitié. As the restaurant’s name would suggest, “L’amitié” means friendship in French, prepares
each dishes with care. Reflecting his prior dream of becoming an engineer,
kitchen and tables are scientifically arranged. Cooking and preparation of
French dishes have to be calculated accurately, as its flavor changes from
moment to moment. In order to present the most flavorful dishes to table,
distance from kitchen to table has layed out to be less than a minute. Rather
than innovative fusion recipes, Jang is dedicated to serve classic French
cuisine with the best local ingredients.
Chef Jang began his career at the Westin Chosun Seoul. Working at
classic American cuisine ‘The Ninth Gate’, and Italian restaurant ‘Yesterday’ enabled him to experience various cuisine types. After taking over L’amitié in 2006, chef Jang received his first
Michelin Star in 2017.
