After gaining experience in Italian restaurants and the Embassy of Germany, Kwangsik Jun teamed with chef Byungjin Kim of the 3 Michelin star restaurant ‘Gaon’. Since then, he began to study and develop Korean food.
He became the sous chef of ‘Gaon’ in 2014,
and in February 2018, he became the executive chef of 1 Michelin star
restaurant ‘Bicena’. His studies on the traditional dish has led him to present
a new, modernized Korean-style cuisine, and to develop the ‘New Classic’
concept of ‘Bicena’.
Born and grown up in Seoul, Kwangsik Jun
visits different parts of the country to study ingredients from diverse
viewpoints. Based on his studies, he creates a unique Korean-style cuisine.
During India Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Korea in February 2019, Kwangsik Jun was in charge of the summit dinner, which for the first time in history was held outside of the Blue House.
