Jeong Kwan

 

The New York Times introduced Monk JeongKwan on October 2015 as follows.


"One of the noblest foods in the world is neither in New York nor in Copenhagen, but one of the nuns in a remote hut in Korea is offering a wonderful vegetarian dish. She is a world-class chef in the same line with Michelle Bra, Alain Faasar. "


Monk JeongKwan was born in Yeongju City in 1956. She became a monk in 1975. She is now Chief Monk at Cheonjinam in Jangseong, Jeolla Namdo in Korea. She is also the director of Temple Food Institute and the editor of the Korean Buddhist Cultural Center textbook.
